This shawl is knitted in two parts.  First, knit the crescent shaped body in your choice of garter stitch or stockinette. 
The top of the body is then finished with an icord bind off that gives a nice flexibility to the edge.

Next pick up the yarn-overs  at the beginning of each row  to begin the border which has a pretty lace pattern.

Our kit contains 5 skeins of beautiful Shepherd's wool
fingering weight yarn (3 for the main body of the shawl, and 2 in a contrasting color for the lace edging),
or 6 skeins of Lacy merino and silk fingering weight yarn (4 balls for main color, 2 balls for edging).

Size US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle.
Finished measurements approx. 67 inches (170 cm) wide by 19 inches (48 cm) deep after blocking.
