The Brant is a small goose that winters along both coasts. The Brant along the Atlantic have light gray bellies, while those off the Pacific Coast have black bellies. No other geese nest as far north as these. Breeding in the high Arctic tundra in summer, they fly south to winter along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Our Atlantic Brant travel down as far as the Carolinas for the winter. Learn more about these beautiful birds here: http://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/brant
